DIXON WILD ARCHITECTS began as Pepper and Dixon in 1967 at Takapuna with Mason Pepper and Tom Dixon. Bruce Wild took over the practice in 2007. It is now situated in the Auckland city fringe suburb of Arch Hill.
We strive to work collaboratively with our clients to make their ideas a reality – whatever the building project and its context.
People who build their own home tend to be very courageous. These people are curious about life. They’re thinking about what it means to live in a house, rather than just buying a commodity and making it work.’
Tom Kundig (1954-)
Freehand drawing is an integral part of our design process. It allows us to represent your ideas quickly and intuitively, providing us with a basis for computer aided modelling.
We have experience with all stages of the design process; resource and building consent, procurement, contract observation and administration. We are happy to discuss our services at greater depth in person.
Our initial meeting is at no cost to you.
Bruce Wild, Registered Architect (Reg No. 2076) and Director

GRANT & JACQUI HIGGINS
We have engaged Dixon Wild Architects on 3 projects over the last 7 years.
Two renovations to our bungalow – extensive remodeling and a pool/pool house, and one modern holiday beach house renovation.
At all times Bruce and his team were collaborative, easy to communicate with and amenable to all our feedback and changes. We felt our original briefs were well incorporated into the final designs.
Bruce was responsive to any on site/deign questions from our builders and was very efficient with consent processes. Both homes are easy to live in and we are thoroughly enjoying the new spaces that were created. Thank you!

J.K MOWAT SMITH
Bruce Wild is the architect for three alteration projects for our family, over a period of approximately 25 years. The outcome of our first experience was so satisfying that I had no hesitation in asking for his expertise for a second and third time.
- The extensive renovation of our family home in Mt Eden, a villa,
- The alteration of our family beach house at Langs Cove a unique building of unusual original construction,
- The alteration and refurbishment of a house, from two semi derelict flats, in Mt Eden, to a home of new condition to down-size to.
Bruce and Dixon Wild Architects have provided design services to our brief as well as introducing thoughtful design innovation to each project. Bruce has lead the projects with empathy, for the family and heritage values integral with each, through all design stages, regulation compliance of resource consent and building consent and services of contract procurement and administration.
We are happy to recommend Dixon Wild Architects for the professional services they provide and the spaces created.
